EGR Morning Snapshot: WorldSpreads, Alphameric, Betfred, PPA 20/04/2009

BetFred and Turf TV have settled the legal dispute between them. Betfred has also signed a deal with Amalgamated Racing, the joint venture company of leisure and hospitality end-to-end solutions business Alphameric, to show Turf TV in BetFred's betting offices. The deal, which runs for five years, is to show exclusive pictures from 31 leading UK racecourses together with a range of other betting content (more).

Spread betting firm WorldSpreads is to sell its sports betting business to the head of the division, Fergus Rice, in order to concentrate on the financial side. Rice will initially pay €250,000 in cash, with further payments to be made on certain financial targets being met, making the deal worth a potential €1.5m to WorldSpreads.

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has announced it is to spend US$3m on lobbying in this session of Congress to overturn the internet gambling ban, or at least carve out an exemption for online poker. The group currently gets most of its money from the Interactive Gaming Council and its poker player members.

Slotland.com’s 3D casino, winaday.com, has signed a deal with EyeView for EyeView’s Video Conversion Solution. Winaday.com offers video poker and slots games. The package includes design and production of video content in multiple language and conversion optimisation.
