Betclick boss Béraud becomes Mangas COO 27/05/2009

Jake Pollard

Betclick chief executive Nicolas Béraud has been nominated chief operating officer of Mangas Gaming, the holding company for Betclick, Expekt and Bet-at-home. The group has also appointed Juliette de la Noue as head of corporate and social responsibility.

Béraud will be charged with building the Mangas Gaming group into one of Europe’s leading betting and gaming companies. The group is headed by Isabelle Parize and recently completed the acquisition of Expekt and Bet-at-home (more), and has plans for more strategic agreements.

However, Béraud denied Mangas Gaming was considering making acquisitions in the online poker vertical. “We are very strong on bookmaking and that is our key expertise. Going into a highly competitive sector like poker would require a re-focus of much of the staff and a level of investment that we are not prepared to contemplate at the moment.”

Béraud said the company would continue its strategy of building on local expertise and each of the three Mangas brands would remain autonomous in terms of how they approach their core markets. He will continue working on maximising synergies between the bookmaking and marketing expertise in the company and emphasised the importance of promoting corporate and social responsibility.
