FoxyBingo tops UK's most visible bingo brands 03/06/2009

FoxyBingo is the UK’s most visible bingo website, a ranking of the 20 most visible online bingo brands seen exclusively by eGaming Review has revealed.

The research by search engine optimisation marketing company Greenlight shows that FoxyBingo was seen on the first page of results for more than three quarters of bingo-related searches (76%) for terms such as ‘free bingo’, ‘online bingo’ and the word ‘bingo’ on Google UK in the month of April, the most recent month for which reliable data is confirmed.

888 came a fitting eighth place with 33%. Greenlight chief executive Warren Cowan said:.“888’s position in bingo isn’t commensurate to its position in the rest of the [egaming] market and the same is true of Party. This reflects their historical strengths.”

The report found that 670,000 searches were made for bingo keywords in the period. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the word ‘bingo’ was the most popular search term for bingo sites, used in more than half of bingo-related searches (56%), before ‘free bingo’ (11%) and ‘online bingo’ (6%). 

Cowan added: “In bingo it doesn’t take a lot of search terms for a people to rack up a big share. There are only three major points of real estate that bingo providers need to focus on, but if you look at poker it’s about 12. That’s why in poker you have much less ownership.”

The terms ‘free online bingo’, ‘bingo com’, ‘no deposit bingo’, ‘bingo online’, ‘bingo games’ and ‘bingo sites’ contributed 2% each, followed by ‘free bingo games’ and ‘play bingo online’, which accounted for 1% each. Other bingo searches totalled 13%.
