Alderney: no comment on FullTilt licence following US asset freeze 11/06/2009

Jake Pollard

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has refused to confirm whether or not the asset freeze of FullTilt Poker player funds would affect FullTilt’s licence in the jurisdiction.

As reported on EGRmagazine.com yesterday, US federal prosecutors have ordered several US banks to freeze payment processor accounts containing more than US$30m in payments owed to poker players at four offshore sites, including FullTilt and PokerStars (more).

eGaming Review today asked the AGCC whether it could guarantee FullTilt’s license if FullTilt, one of the major operators licensed in the Channel Islands jurisdiction, was found to have contravened US law. However AGCC chief executive André Wilsenach refused to comment.

Wilsenach said: “As a matter of principle we don’t comment publicly on the business of our licensees or their associated parties”.
