Passage of the bill to legalise intrastate poker in California will be a “smooth sail” once stakeholders feedback on the proposal to be presented to them this week, the Poker Voters of America’s (PVA) top lobbyist has told eGaming Review (more).
NetPlay TV non-executive chairman Clive Jones said the interactive gaming business had “come of age” as it posted a 118% year-on-year increase in turnover to £19.8m for the year ended 31 December 2008, up from £9.1m in 2007. The company also achieved a 241% growth in EBITDA to £2.4m, compared to a £1.7m loss the previous year (more).

IGT-UK Group has restructured its mobile and internet gaming operations following its acquisition of Million-2-1 and the integration of the UK division of WagerWorks (more).
Scandinavian gaming company Betsson has opened a merchant account with dedicated gaming bank Ivobank, joining customers including Unibet and Expekt.
Virgin Casino has launched a new slot game, Transformers: Ultimate Payback, to coincide with the release of the movie this month. As reported on EGRmagazine.com last week, WagerWorks has also launched a Transformers branded product.
Bodog88.com, the Asian-facing Bodog business, has appointed Macom Communications as its marketing company. As reported on EGRmagazine.com, Bodog’s Asian operations started as 9play and were transferred over to Bodog88, which is owned by Haydock Sports.
