EGR Morning Snapshot: online poker in Florida; casino on UK TV; CryptoLogic; William Hill... 23/06/2009

Governor Charlie Grist has signed a bill which will undertake a study into the impact of legal intrastate online poker in Florida, which many believe will pave the way for regulation in the US state.

Interactive gaming company NetPlay TV is to take advantage of recently relaxed guidelines by British media watchdog Ofcom to deliver all night interactive gambling on UK terrestrial television.

CryptoLogic has renewed its licensing deal with Marvel Entertainment. CryptoLogic will retain its rights as the sole developer of internet casino games based on Marvel’s characters as they appear in the comic books until 2013. This is the third time CryptoLogic has renewed the licensing deal. 

South African horse racing and tote betting monopoly Phumelela is now using SeTeCa, the 3G platform from British voice and communications company C3. The technology allows punters to use their mobile handsets to watch live racing and place bets.  

Gaming bank IvoBank has retained digital gaming marketing agency McBoom to deliver its customer acquisition campaigns across Europe.
