888 B2B arm Dragonfish is to offer free bingo after trial drives revenue surge 24/06/2009

888’s B2B business, Dragonfish, is to extend its free bingo promotion across all its bingo networks after the initiative doubled traffic and generated double-digit revenue growth for pilot sites in just three months.
 
Dragonfish boss Gabi Campos told EGRmagazine.com that the draw of free bingo to rapidly establish a critical mass online provided the leverage for sites Cheeky Bingo and Costa Bingo to turn players into depositors.
 
Campos said: “By signing up for free cards, they enjoy the chat rooms, get excited about the software, and very quickly become a community in a similar way to any other social network. They then start escalating their commitment little by little, and then want to play for the bigger prizes.”
 
While declining to comment on speculation around the implications for its Globalcom platform should Cheeky Bingo parent and network partner Cashcade be acquired by PartyGaming, Campos said that anybody looking to consolidate needed to ensure they were running on the best software and liquidity possible.
 
“From my generic position and opinion looking at the industry, it’s pretty obvious what we offer is very unique and powerful proposition for businesses to significantly grow their bingo,” Campos added.
