EGR Morning Snapshot: Paddy Power; Sportsbet; 32 Red; Rank's new bingo boss...  29/06/2009

Paddy Power could pay up to €140m to buy the rest of Australia's Sportsbet, it has emerged.

32Red trading director Martin Saunders has left to pursue other opportunities within the online gambling industry. In unrelated developments, 32Red has been accepted by PayPal, joining PartyGaming, 888 and Paddy Power in the small but growing number of operators approved by the online payment giant. The casino site has also signed a 32Red shirt sponsorship deal with Swansea City football club.

Rank Group has appointed Mark Jones as managing director of Mecca Bingo, its British bingo clubs business. Jones was previously executive chairman of Premium Bars and Restaurants. He replaces former Mecca Bingo boss Simon Wykes, who left in May.

Online gambling platform developer CTXM has developed two new slots for IPhone. FreakyFruits Slots and Totem Quest Slots are both derived from casino slots CTXM already publishes. The company also plans to launch the full version of Totem Quest puzzle game as well a Safari based version of FreakyFruits Slots this week.

CryptoLogic has signed a deal to provide at least 10 of its most popular online slot games to Victor Chandler. The first set of branded and non-branded games are scheduled to go live in the third quarter of 2009, with a complete rollout over the remainder of the year. The games will be made available on a platform from CryptoLogic partner Gaming Technology Solutions (GTS).
