Bet 365 fastest mover in Top Track 100; Betfred, Gala Coral also in 07/07/2009
Bet365 is the biggest riser in this year’s Top Track 100 list ranking of Britain’s biggest private companies.
Gala Coral and Betfred are also on the list, which is compiled annually by UK research and events company Fast Track in association with the UK’s Sunday Times newspaper, and ranks businesses based on turnover (revenue).
Bet365 rose to number seven in the list from number 16 last year, the newspaper revealed abnd recorder sales of £3.4bn in 2009 compared with £1.8bn last year.
The company was founded in the 1970s as a chain of high-street betting shops. However as reported on EGRmagazine.com, Bet365 sold its betting shops to Gala Coral to concentrate on internet gambling in 2005 under chief executive John Coates.
The business is based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, and its main shareholders are the Coates family, which owns 93% of the business.
While smaller in turnover than Bet365, Gala Coral is more profitable, making £402m annual profit against just £36m at Bet365 according the latest annual figures from both companies. However as reported by eGaming Review, the smoking ban and the recent increase in bingo duty have hurt the business, and Gala Coral aims to raise £200m funding to help it through a looming cash crunch.

Bet365 is currently the best company for affiliates to promote. They offer punters arguably the best all-round service. Their sportsbook is exemplary. Little wonder they are 'fastest mover'. Customers can not be fooled. In business the cream rises. Hope Bet365 will keep up their high standards.
