Poker site to reward players with equity 18/01/2010
SCANDINAVIAN OPERATOR TELL Gaming has relaunched its poker site to offer a new feature to reward frequent players with a stake in the company.
Poker and casino players on the site, TellGaming.com, receive ‘ownership units’ in the company which entitle them to receive a share of the profit distributed by the company.
Players have already earned 20% of Tell Gaming as a result of their play on the site, with a dividend of €30,000 ($43,200, £26,400) paid out to those players on 6 January.
An additional 5% equity in Tell Gaming is still available, and the profit-share will continue to be available to players regardless of any future merger, the company said.
Marketing manager Thomas Jonsén said: “We’re grateful to our players, and rewarding them with a stake in our company is something we are very
passionate about, and we hope to pay an ever higher dividend to our players within the next 12 months as Tell Gaming continues its expansion.”
As well as the profit share novelty, Tell Gaming also seeks to acquire customers by offering live poker academies in which players are able to quiz a poker ‘mentor’, poker professional
Andreas Hurtig, while following a live game.
The new site follows after Tell Gaming announced that it will launch a
sportsbook last week, coinciding with other moves into sports betting by subscription TV channel Setanta Sport and Titan Poker and the re-launch of Ladbrokes
sportsbook.
