Merge Gaming: we will grow 6x by August; top 10 poker site by 2011 22/02/2010
MERGE Gaming will see a six-fold boost in liquidity in six months and will be one of the world’s top 10 poker sites by early 2011, chief executive Anthony Taylor has pledged.
The company recently attracted Sportsbook.com-owner Jazette Enterprises to move its Sportsbook.com, PlayersOnly.com and Superbook.com brands to the Merge Gaming network from the Cake network. Liquidity will grow four-fold as a result of the deal, Taylor said, with further growth via new clients attracted to the network by its increased liquidity.
Taylor told EGRmagazine.com exclusively: “We aim to be among the top 10 poker sites in the world this time next year. Sportsbook.com and the other Jazette brands will give us a huge liquidity boost and we are confident that in combination with our leading software this will attract further clients to the network that will enable that growth to snowball.”
Other poker brands on the Merge Gaming poker network including Aced, Bluff Room, Carbon Poker, Poker Nordica and Iron Duke; with PokerFantasy having joined the network last month.]

The clever money is on Merge offering Jazetye shares in the network for coming over. That way the increased liquidity, and snowball in new clients will be mutually beneficial for all parties. I presume the cake network couldn't match a deal like that...

The real network you want to watch out for is everleaf.com . They are doing a fantastic job with their software and are doing an even better job with liquidity.
This network will definately be in the top 10 by the end of the year.

I do expect the merge network to gain from the move, and if to say it is expected to be a top 10 by 2011 the that is out of sight either it all the players from the Jazette Enterprises do make the move and play on the network i would imagine that the site will only need about 1 to 2 thousand players to be in the top 10, with current numbers at peek around 4000 the increased traffic ii would imagine would put them at around a possible 6000-7000 players at peek hours. But i would love to see some of the skins on the merge network combined so i didnt have to use to my fingers and toes to keep track of them all.

I wonder about the reasons behind the move. Going from a #10 network to a #20 (pokerscout.com) one does not seem to make any sense on the surface.
If it's just lower fees to the network, I suspect they'll be in for a big surprise when the lost revenue outweighs any savings on the fees.
